Fluoboric Acid is also know as Hydrogen tetra-fluoborate, tetra-fluoroboric acid and Fluoroboric acid and used for various industrial applications in several industries. Fluoric acid 52% wt./vol. is prepared in colorless or pale yellow liquid with molecule weight of 87.81. It has solubility of 4 g/100 ml water @ 15 (59 degree F) and Boiling Point of 130 degree cecius. Some of the applications of the acid are:

  • In Pharmaceutical industry for manufacturing bulk drugs
  • As catalyst for preparing acetals, etherifying cellulose,
  • To clean metal surfaces before welding,
  • To brighten aluminum
  • As a reagent
